De-Escalation Training

This 3-hour workshop walks you through how to manage people presenting as challenging or aggressive in any environment such as doctors surgeries, clinics and medical services. You will understand and learn the research and science around behaviour management.  How to deal with a person’s frustration, aggression and anger. You will develop an insight into the biology of aggression and the role of our mental state in dealing with difficult situations. This session is aimed at social care service and customer service, frontline, call centre staff. This content is created by a team with over 30 years of supporting high and complex individuals in community and hospital settings. All these sessions are tailored to an individual person's needs and come with a work book.

After attending this workshop, you will walk away feeling confident with… 

  • Understanding and identifying antecedent behaviours and their consequences 
  • Knowledge of the crisis cycle 
  • Awareness of the triggers and early warning signs around behaviours seen as challenging
  • Identify the role of mental health and needing to be de -escalated
  • Understanding of environmental factors and how to control them
  • Have a toolbox of tools to allow you to take control, handle and de-escalate heated situations quickly and professionally 
  • learn techniques in having a calm presence, the right tone of voice and body language
  • Show competence in being able to complete incident reports and risk assessments. 
  • Improve health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Understanding the requirement of legislation around De-Escalation
