5 Ways to Wellbeing in the workplace
The 5 routes to well being occurred from the New Economics Foundation's (NEF) Foresight Project on Mental Capital and Wellbeing research report.
The NEF carried out a detailed review of recent research and found that establishing five initiatives into day to day living is important for the wellbeing of all people, families, communities, workplaces and organisations. The five routes to well being are:
Connect
Call a friend, drop in on a neighbour, write a letter, share a lunch, organise a play date or attend a community event.
Be active
Walk on the beach, join a gym, take a stroll in the bush, walk instead of using the lift or join a sport group.
Take notice
Stop and look at trees and plants, start gardening, look at old buildings, check out the clouds, walk a route you would normally drive or read a poster on a wall.
Learn
Learn about your weaknesses and strengths, read a book, take up a new hobby, try a new language, chat to someone new or look at those goals you want to achieve in life.
Give
Pass on your knowledge to others, support a neighbour, help a colleague, stop and listen to a friend or invite someone to lunch. Giving makes everyone happy.
Introduce any of these ideas into your life and you will begin to feel the benefits.
